i have owned my trailer,Ifor Williams for a good few years.it has been serviced regularly ,never changed tyres but it is kept in field and rarely used over winter. Wondering how often they should be changed even if not worn.

Mine is 7 years old is used fairly regularly but mostly short journeys and has had two new tyres. OH is a traffic cop and keeps a very close eye on all the tyres in the family so to speak!

I've had my trailer about 5 yrs and it's 10 yrs old. I don't know about before I bought it, but I have never changed any of them. It is serviced once a year and I do look at them to make sure the tread is ok, and they seem to be fine. It's due a service soon.

Worn tread which is unlikely as most don't do enough miles.

The most important is if there are ANY cracks in the walls. When the tyres heat up that can cause the walls to blow out if cracked.

Do not take the risk and also please use the correct rated commercial tyres NOT car tyres.

You will be about £70 for a proper trailer tyre for a ifor Williams.

Ideally, do not mix Radial and Cross Ply tyres on the trailer - and never on the same axle, which is illegal.

All radial tyres must be `E` marked.

Don't risk your horses life to save a few bob.
