How often do you wash......

When they need it!!
Sometimes I just pop down the yard and they don't need washing after that as they're not dirty. Other times, they have all sorts smeared on them. A combination of horse sneeze, saddle soap, the leg graze along the edge of the wheel barrow and the puppy jumping up means they need washing after one wear.

Luckily, I have more jods than I do jeans, and I have about 8 pairs of jeans, so am lucky not to run out of supply before getting a chance to do a load of laundry.

I couldn't NEVER wash them though, icky!!

errr, only once or if I'm really enthusiastic twice a week <hangs head in shame>

But in fairness during the week I'm only at the yard for an hour and a half a day and am not mucking out or anything so they don't really have a chance to get dirty!

I wash mine after wearing them twice, used to just wear them once but my mum got annoyed with me for filling the washing machine with my horsey things!

When it gets to the stage when I would be REALLY ashamed to pop to the local paper shop in them

Probably somewhere between 3 and 10 times of riding in them, depending on how efficient I'm feeling. Mucking out clothes in winter are washed every one- two weeks - they stink, but get left in a pile on the floordrobe, not about to put them away with clean clothes  When I feel repulsed by them, they get washed ;)

When they can walk to the washing machine themselves :D

Phew! I'm not the only one then :D
I would say I wear them 5-6 days before putting in a ''to wash'' pile and moving on to next pair, but sometimes they make it back from said pile if I haven't got round to doing laundry and have nothing to wear
As I run a yard, I wear jods (well, breeches, anyway) all day, every day.
I am a manky sod :o

Ditto! The only exception is when I can't find my dark jods (like this week) and have to wear my cream ones instead. Eugh... I never realised how grubby I really was. LOL. Thank goodness my black jods hide it so well ;)

Now when I wear jean to the yard, that's different. I wash those about once a week! By then they really can walk to the machine by themselves. I whistle and they come running to be washed :D

Floordrobe lol :D

When theyre dirty really. Not like, a little bit of dirt I can live with that, but theres a cut off point to how bad they are. I keep smart things washed and clean but I have the 'Coat' and work jods/jeans that get pretty manky on a day to day basis, as I am out there for hours a day with multiple horses.

Like someone else said, when you stop outside a shop and think :o its way past time. Although my local shop told me off for worrying about it and said 'never you mind!' Bless them.

How often do you wash .... your jods?
After each wear?
3-4 days?
once a week?
Never!

I wash everything after one wearing. I absolutely cringe at the thought of putting on worn clothes again. :(

Jackets and coveralls once a week, or more often if they are dirty.

My cream ones get washed every time I wear them because I mostly only wear them if I'm going out. If I'm hacking / riding at home, they get washed when they "need" it - possibly after one wear if I've had an untimely interaction with the ground / mud / dog's paws  or possibly after many if I've avoided the mank for a few days :p

this! ^^

Competition ones get washed after every wear as otherwise they stain.

Everyday ones I usually get through 2-3 pairs a week. Mon-Fri I am only in them for 3hrs ish a day, so unless it is very wet or muddy they will do 4-5 days. Weekends I'm in them all day so they usually only last 2 days.

I attract mud too - always filthy within minutes!

I've got 3 pairs of everyday ones I like and another 2 pairs I don't so only actually do a wash of yard clothes once a week.

I am a fan of overalls - use them for most yard work except when it gets very hot, wash them about once a fortnight unless I have knelt in something particulalry smelly, they live out in the boot room so not a problem. Coats get done about every other month and before being put away for the summer. Jods - can do twixt 1 use and 4/5 uses. In the summer I might wear a fresh pair every time I ride beacuse I am unfit get a bit sweaty, dont mind a bit of mud or horse grease/sweat. In the winter I have been known to keep my overalls on to ride.

Competition ones, every wear. Normal ones usually do two days, sometimes less. Fleeces get through 2-3 a week, other coats get washed pretty often too.

Yes, I do a lot of laundry :)

Really??! You must have to do a lot of laundry! I wash jackets about once a year :o

Only one load a day, pretty normal really I thought.

It is also because my OH has allergies and the less hair and hay dust etc in the house there is the better.

When I've worn them for a week usually, but I bought some in November - which have only been washed once! Most of that is at work (in an office! - gotta love this 'equestrian' trend!) and I'm only wearing the 'legitimately for a couple of hours per week, so they never smell horsey.

Pointless drivel: I did wear denim jodhpurs when I cycled across Germany. I wild camped a couple of nights and the next time I was around people I noticed distinct looks of disgust. Needless to say I slept the rest of the trip on proper campsites and washed them every day!!

When I was on the yard full time I had 3 pairs and they all went in to the wash on my day off so every 6 days can't rememeber the last time I had to wash my Jods :( an that was because my OH complained :o
Most of them have permanent stains anyway so it's impossibel to tell if they are 'clean' or not.

When they are filthy! :o I dont wear them that much in all honesty though so its only 8 times a month and then they are proberly due a wash then :o :D

I wash every day.;)

I wash my jodhpurs when they need it. They may get dirty in half an hour, or are OK to wear two or three or even four times.

tend to change them after two days unless my mum comes in and removes them to put them in the washing machine as apparently "there bloody filfthy" and my reply is there will only be the same againg tomorrow :D three times is the max as in them constantly and never seem keep clean .. my coats and that go when they walk to the machine or my mother comes along again... shes obssessed with washing my pink waistcoat :D
