Out of interest how often do you worm,
I have a young pony out on loan as a companion and where he is kept they worm every 3-6 weeks (I pay). My own ponys at my place its 8-12 weeks depending on the time of year. (12wks winter, 8wks weeks summer, ) I also cross graze with sheep which I know helps..

I do mine for small redworm and tapeworm in the spring and autumn, and for bots in Dec. Then I worm according to the manufacturer's advice - so if Equest then every 13 weeks, if Eqvalan, then every 8 weeks and so on.
I also love to poo pick

When i remember, normally about 3 times a year, im aware it should be more but my gelding is in a field on his own and has been wormed this way for two years with no problems whatsoever, some of the horses at the yard dont ever get wormed and havnt been in years and they are also fine. I dont have a set worming plan, i just ask in the shop for the best wormer for the time of year.

One is chemically wormed within the yards own worming routine, roughly every 12 weeks depending on what we are using that year. The other is herbally wormed once a month and then tapeworm antibody tested annually and faecal egg counted every 12 weeks to ensure the herbal wormers are working. (Which they are!). He is chemically wormed for encysted redworms only.

Every 6 weeks since one of my horses suffered from Laminitis which was brought on by emerging encysted red worms which sadly can not be detected by worm counts.
