clean your tack?

I know that in an ideal world it is supposed to be after every time you use it, but does anyone have the time to do it after every ride?

So how long do you leave it before you get the saddle soap out?

Tack at work gets done every time it is used without fail.
Mine own, not very often, when it gets partically yucky or I'm going to a show. But when you do about 10 sets everyday at work you really don't feel like doing your own.

I try and do it a couple of times a month, Ive got a synthetic saddle ATM and I dont like cleaning them!
I wash my numahs every couple of weeks, Ive only ridden him 4 times in about 3 weeks!

I haven't had time, its so annoying!

i keep the `oily rag` (that is soft dishcloth soaked in leather balsm) on a shelf next to tack and try to use it after riding every time,next to it is a packet of wet-wipes to clean my hands after.
i also have synthetic stuff i use when i`m in a hurry.
my polypads go in the wash every 3 or 4 uses.
i have a wintec girth that i wipe with the wet-wipes.

Before each show which this year is once a month ish, much more frequently than in previous years

I do mine once a week - full strip down and then oil it every other week. Keeps it looking good.
