wash all your horse equipment? ie rugs, grooming kit and even your own gear? I must say one of my pet hates is dirty rugs and clothes. Most of my stable rugs are lightweight which I layer when it gets really cold but it also means that I can take them home and wash them in my own machine. I tend to do the rugs about once a week so that they don't get really manky. Same goes for certain brushes from the grooming kit. I wash them frequently too as it also helps to keep the horse clean. And depending on what state the turnout rugs end up in I like to change those every couple of months during the winter. My mare has just gone into her heavyweight so the other is in for a clean untill the weather warms up again.

I wouldn't dream of wearing a jumper for 3 or 4 months at a time and don't see why my horses should have to put up with dirty rugs either!

omg!!! well I hate dirty rugs but can only afford the washing/repairs/reproofing once maybe twice a year so this is normally done during summer when I don't need any rugs. I probably clean my grooming kit about once a year too, depending on how muddy the winter has been. My clothes well that depends on when I run out of things to wear to to farm lol, coats are usually once/twice a year.

Erm ... I wash rugs for a business and my girl has clean rugs all the time. I wash all year round and people are now getting the idea that they dont have to go through Winter with filthy stable rugs.

I have my rugs washed once or twice a year. I very rarely clean my grooming brushes but when I do they get put in the washing machine, they come out looking like new

Mine have 2 lightweights, 2 medium weights, and 2 heavy weight turnouts. I generally find that by utililising all of them throughout the winter they only need cleaning and re-proofing once each. They are all horsewear, and so have the nylon lining which prevents them getting too grimy. With numnahs and girths, then I wash them very frequently. How often depends on how grotty they are getting (which depends on work load, time of year, make of item) but I am fastidious about keeping them clean

I don't possess a stable rug amongst the lot of them. TO's get hosed off in Spring.

My own gear, hats, gloves, scarfs come off me in the evening and straight into the washing machine. Coveralls get washed at least twice a week, every time if they are wet,I HATE dirty, smelly clothes. At this time of year the mud room is way too cold so my coats etc are in the basement which opens on to the downstairs sitting room, yuk!

Hardly ever - My rugs get washed once a year by the rug cleaner lady and they stay in nice plastic bags until I need them again where they come out looking like new

I clean my grooming kit a couple of times a year and do out my storage twice a year and de cobweb my stable about twice too.
Numnahs I have quite a few so only wash when they get really grubby. I haven't been brave enough to wash my sheepskin one yet

Rugs get washed as they need doing with the heaviest rugs (1 heavy weight combo stable rug, 2 heavy weight TO rugs) getting washed in the spring once its a bit warmer. Though the stable rug does -just about- fit in the washing machine so if push comes to shove it gets washed!

Numnahs usually get washed after every ride, or every other ride. Same goes for boots. Though if they're dry I'll just brush them off.
Under rugs get washed when they need it - usually every few weeks. Come mid winter when he's fully clipped & mostly stabled they seem to need less washing as he stays cleaner!

Grooming kit also gets done every few weeks, tack once a fortnight at the least!

Don't have stable rugs, hate how dirty and smelly they get, think they are a pointless waste of time and money in this era of breathable turnouts.

The TO rugs get washed once or possibly twice a year, I have two MW and so tend to use one up to Christmas then one after Christmas, roughly speaking. This year is the first year they've needed doing in the interim, and that's only because of the horrible state of my horse's dung!

Saddlecloths get done once a week or once a fortnight depending on workload, though when I was using sheepskin halfpads they got done after every couple of rides really. Girth is synthetic so gets a hose and a brush off after rides then hung up to dry. Grooming kit gets done 2 or 3 times a year in the washing machine. Boots I have several sets of depending on what we are doing - hacking ones are synthetic Premier Equine XC ones so just get hosed off, arena ones get washed maybe once a month, jumping ones get hosed off. I have a completely separate set which live in the lorry for competing and those are cleaned in a bucket before we come home (XC and SJ).

Hardly ever! We have his stable rugs washed in spring sometime and then they are left in the bags untill winter! We don't really bother washing his T/O rugs as he only gets them filthy again!
