Mine, hardly ever. He came up the morning my last horse was put down and he's been up to see my new share horse once.

Does it bother me, a bit but I also like the time away I get up at yard so I can't really moan although it would be nice if he listened to me more when I talked horses! He did say to me the other night that my thought process in my head goes horse, horse, horse, food, horse, horse, horse, food, horse, horse ;-) which is actually spot on xx

Ha ha, i am so glad that someone else has the same problem as me. My husband is sooooo anti horse that I take my Horse magazine down to the yard to read as if I read it at home I get sarky comments which I really can't be arsed with!! He has been to see my horse once since I moved him into livery last June and that was only to make safe the stable!! :(

Hardly ever, he's probably been to the yard with me about a dozen times in the three years we've been together, he finds it a bit boring and I don't blame him! He is by no means anti-horse, he was happy for me to buy my horse and hardly ever moans about the time or money spent!

Also, for a non-horse person he's pretty good at picking out my horse, even when faced with three bright bay horses with various different white socks! :D

My OH is brilliant, he comes up whenever we are together (both still live with parents GRR) and i need to go up there, he will stand and watch me ride, put jumps up. go get him from the field, brush him ect :D

and he not only knows who my horse is but who all the others are and has nicknames for them all!! :D

Can count the times on one hand - and thats over nearly 11 years! So, in a word, NO, he doesn't see the horses.
I am not too fussed now as have got so used to it. lol

My OH comes down whenever he is up in Manchester (he lives in Leeds) to try and beg the odd ride lol :)
He DOES like to ride, he's had lessons but he's learning about caring for them too slowly - and he's good for carrying heavy haynets and water buckets! ;)
K x

At the moment, daily! Because I am still recovering from my broken knee so he's had to drive me there and do a lot of the work for me.

Normally, only when I beg him to come and take pics!

Every day :D

He helps out and when I can't go, he does it for me :D

We have four horses and he's not even remotely horsey, but will stand for ages whilst they graze in hand, poo picks, tops up waters, moves whatever needs moving, leads whatever needs leading, holds whatever needs holding. Does farrier, vet, physio, dentist appointments when I can't. Is a star :D Equally, if I want time on my own with my horses, he's happy to stay home :D

mine is completely anti-yard and ant-horse.

we had a standoff where i got the horse without him being fully on board with the idea! now he won't come to see it as he knows he would get attached (he is MAD about animals) so he's standing his ground! He never had any experiences of horses before he met me, and so far he's had to collect me with a dislocated finger one week, followed by a broken arm 3 weeks after, so I can understand his wariness about the whole thing!

Each to their own tho! The stable is my little world and i kind of like it. We work together from home and live together, so we see eachother 24 hours a day. I think its good to escape somewhere else and have your own interest!

Mine usually makes an attempt to come with me 4 or 5 times a year. He isn't anti horse but doesn't love them, and finds em a bit frightening if they're being silly lol!

He did muck out my stable on valentines day, bless him. Wasted newly a whole bale of straw but didn't have the heart to tell him he was doing it badly as he was so pleased with himself for the wonderful gesture he'd come up with :D

Not very often he is allergic, but has come down I'd say about 10 times in 18 months. He has even mucked out for me when I was really hung over after a works do and was still being ill in the evening, despite never having mucked out before! He encourages my hobby but I can't criticise for not coming down more as the hair really makes him ill'but I know he would help me out if I was desperate!

All the time :) He helps me groom, tack up, set all the jumps up, take pics, laugh at me and tell me what im doing wrong even though he has no idea! Im training him well ;)

Often enough that we are considering getting another and not telling him about it. There's a lady at our horse's yard who has 3 more than her non-horsey OH knows about lol :D

If my car is broken down he will take me there, and yesterday morn I had to turn the pony recovering from lami and his friend (chestnut tb mare) out for a few hours on our way out for the day and he did in fact lead his friend out but he looked rather uncomfortable

This describes my OH completely too! He looks after the other horses at the yard when owners go on holiday and loves to keep the children entertained whilst we have our girlie gossip lol. I love it most of the time but sometimes it grates, but try to get over that as he does a lot for me and looks after my boy whenever I want to go away :)

Now, him going to shows is another story....

All the time...how I wish he hated horses...but now we have two I never get to go to the yard alone and it used to be MY place.

He is useful though and does virtually maintain the yard for the YO - he installed an automatic trough in the paddocks on Monday and it is a revelation to her, lol! Should be doing the next one as soon as we find another bath :D

My boyfriends pretty good; he's walked miles with me whilst getting my young boy used to hacking out and has even driven me up to the yard at 11pm when I couldn't sleep as I was worried about my old boy!!
He does sometimes moan about the money and the amount I talk about horses but I can't really complain as I think I'm alot to put up with with my ever expanding shopping list for cahrlie horse!!

Not very often but that is mostly because he has hay fever and is allergic to horses... but also because he lives in France!

But he did ask me to teach him to ride so we can go hacking during the periods he's home, which is really sweet :)

Mine is on the yard every day. He does waters, haynets, empties barrows and makes us all coffee. He holds horses for farrier, or vet. Catches and turns out, does all the repairs. Tows the trailer for me because I am rubbish. We have been married 25 years and when we met 30 years ago he attempted to learn to ride too. He does all he does before he has a shower and goes to work. (he has to drive 50 miles to work too)

my hubs is just amazing. he has to take a piriton, but he comes up with me most days, when I'm not at the RDA (he works from home), and we take Shy and the dogs out together. He can't stand the "faffing about" side of horses tho, you know what I mean. He'll be looking after Shy, the shettie, two dogs and two ferrets when I go away for a week next month. Poor man !

OH - and the one and only time he came for a ride with me (on a trekking horse ffs), the horse bolted, he came off, and broke his shoulder. So that was the end of that.

I really am very lucky :)

That's so cute Aprilblossom! My bf is scared of horses so in 4 years, he's only been to the yard with me three times and ridden twice. I like it that way though as he's stupidly competitive and would want to beat me at it all where as I'm a happy hacker!

Plus side though, he does record horsey things for mewithout
prompting and does try to take an interest in what I tell him although he prefers watching the puissance to dressage!

OH rode until he fell off aged about ten i thin and is now quite scared of horses but he comes to see shared horse and pick me up on the way back from work as yard is on his way home he learning and is now very good at grooming popped round the corner for 5 secs came back and he was plaiting horses mane! Girl! he wants me to teach him to ride and he was very proud of himself when he fed horse a carrot for 1st time and didn't get his fingers bitten :p

My ex never went to the yard with me. He came down the week after i got my boy and the odd time i went to feed but i constantly got "how long you going to be" or "hurry up!". He started getting very jealous of the time i spent at stables (only a couple of hours morning and evening!) and it got to the stage he was making me choose between him and my horse (without knowing it) Of course, my horse won that one :)

its quite sickening my OH comes up all the time and i get to ride and he mucks out :) i prob take totall advantage of this. :p
but he is so outdoorsey that he loves it.
however it is my thing and i like to have my time to myself sometimes.
didnt realise how lucky i was maybe i shud be slightly nicer to him in the future hehe
