I'm just about to give all of Jerry's tack a coat of neatsfoot as I've forgotten my saddle soap again

Anyone got any ideas on how to clean/condition a patent bridle?
How often do you condition your stuff and what do you use?

I normally use that stubben cream but I'm using neatsfoot on my new boots in the hope that they'll soften before next weekend :o

I wouldn't use neatsfoot tbh. Leaving it unconditioned occationally will do it no harm assuming it hasn't got soaking wet or dried by a heater. I would only use neatsfoot on stuff I want to stretch (like an overly snug pair of boots).

Patent leather has a plastic coating so just wipe over with a damp cloth to clean, you can't condition it as it is sealed, so a buff with a dry cloth is really all you can do.

I have a little wipe over of conditioner each time I clean my tack, probably habit rather than because it needs it tbh! I use grand prix leather gloss, utterly brilliant at conditioning and leaves a lovely sheen.
