How often to service a trailer?

How often do you service your trailers? I take mine out approx once a month, sometimes a little more. In the 9 months I have had it I've probably taken it out maybe 10-15 times.

Would that warrant getting it done once a year or is there a rule of thumb?

I get mine serviced every 12 months. There are some scary pics of horrific accidents from poorly maintained floats and trailers... For my own peace of mind, I suck it up

Every January mine gets done.
But I only use it about 3 times a year so I am going to sell it and hire when I want to go places.
I was going to do my trailer test this year but I have bigish vet bills now so I probably won't :-(

Excellent. Will get it booked in for May/June then I agree you cannot put a price on safety!

Everything was put in brand new when I bought the trailer so it should just be a straightforward service!

I was advised at least every year no matter how often I use it. Especially if it is only used very occasionally, things may not wear out but they can perish or seize up. I also wonder how the insurance company would react if I had an accident and wasn't able to show that the trailer had been serviced regularly.

We usually do ours ourselves, however this winter I have had a new floor and it had a once over while it was there. Floor, tyres and lights are checked before every use anyway so that doesn't leave much to look at once or twice a year.
