Im terrible I always forget to change in to my wellies and end up doing all my yard duties with my nice riding boots boots on,

End up having to clean them every time I leave the yard as I dont want them stinking my kitchen out.

Completly defeats the object of my wellies being left at the yard lol

I clean my leather boots once a week! But I only use them for riding so it isn't too bad - unless I haven't groomed and they end up with grease up the backs

Definitely do yard duties in your yard boots as you'll just end up rotting the leather and stitching!

My posh boots get cleaned as frequently as my tack - basically, any time we go anywhere! I have a pair of yard winter riding boots I do most things in, they don't get cleaned bar a scrub in the bucket before I leave the yard. If I'm not riding then it's wellies all the way!

I have steel toe capped jod boots that I do most of my yard work in - unless wet in which case its muckboots - and I just chip the mud off etc periodically. My other boots are kept clean and are cleaned more regularly - especially when competing. Every summer I get all my boots in the garden (sunny day) and give them a good clean and 'feed' them with lots of leather balsaam. It seems to help protect them and build up the waterproofing on them all. The more you clean them and look after them the longer they last.

Oh dear you are making me feel really bad now,

I have a pair of dubarry replicas (sp??) that sometimes end up working their way in to the stable and I also have hunter leather riding boots which cost £160 which are the ones I was refering to as my "nice" boots. that end up being used round the yard.

I have a cheepy pair of jod boots and gaiters (they are cheep but really smart)that I end up having to get out for shows as they are the cleanest.

From now on Im going to make a concious effort to just wear my wellies round the yard.
And give my hunters a bit of tlc that they deserve.

I don't compete so just have leather joddy boots and chaps. They never really get cleaned either, which i know is bad! If i'm riding i do my jobs in them as well, as can't be bothered faffing. If i'm not riding it's wellies though, and wellies if i have to go down a muddy field.

These ones are lasting sooo well. Must be made for numpties like me who don't clean them but can't remember what make they are.

I have to clean and polish my riding boots before every ride which is most days!
I do my groom and tack up then polish before i jump on so they cannot get dirty in between!!!

i try to wear my wellies round the yard as much as possible, as amonia from the stables can rot stitiching and dry out leather boots. i have a pair of black leather gaiters and boots i only wear for compeition so i try and remember to clean them after i compete every time to keep them looking like new for as long as possible. When i clean my tack i usually clean my everyday riding boots with some leather food that i use on my tack.
