Twenty eight this year. But still have acne and puppy fat. Coupled with the onset of wrinkles. How is that even fair?!

My mother is 54 and will still come and jump BH over 3' or so now and then. I think if she lived closer I think I'd have lost him to her years ago. She said she'd take him hunting next season, don't know how serious she was mind you! :)

well, my birth certificate and my parents say that i was born 16 years ago BUT i get told daily that i look, think and behave older than i am soo my real age is probably around 26 on a normal day, 19 on a teenager day and 46 on my sensible days. Therefore i really don't know how old i am :o

Who says older people are more sensible? Im 47 going on 10!!

41 and already wondering where the years have gone, what i find strange is that my oldest brother will be 50 this year....... i can remember my dads 50th so how the heck can my brother be getting to that age:eek:

46....until Wednesday :(

Riddled with osteoarthritis & physically feel and move like someone over 100. In my head i'm much younger but the mirror and my body tell a much crueller version.

47 sounds so OLD!!! i know that these days 'old' is different to when i was (actually) younger, cos middle aged ladies really did look middle aged, if you know what i mean. But jeez! 47..... some days i still find myself daydreaming about getting married, about what i'll call my child and what it'll look like. and then i realise it's never gonna happen. So many things i thought i would do/achieve in my life that i now never will. And so many things i didnt think id have to think about till i was much much older....like having a pill box the size of a briefcase, shopping for a walking stick and looking longingly thro brochures for gadgets to help open things

Can you tell im depressed and feeling sorry for myself about my upcoming birthday :(

Mogg, your post made me sad. You have a lot problems to cope with. Do you still manage to ride OK?

All I can say is many happy returns for Wednesday - and go out and light a bonfire. You are an Arian, after all. xx

Happy Birthday Rose Folly!

I'm 50 soon, have bad arthritis in my hands and my right shoulder, but I have a good set of strong teeth :D my girth straps have a lot of teeth marks on!

I feel good though, happy working 10 hours a week, loving riding my ponies still most days, can't wait for my beach camping holiday later this year.

Been married nearly 31 years too this year :) my secret?......my OH lives in Austria Mon to Friday!!

53 on 4th May,work 48 hrs a week to support two horses, one cob and one young TB. I mainly happy hack (sometimes for 7+ hrs!!) because I have no horse transport, but have a buzz round local jumping classes with my cob and x country if I'm lucky :)
I still love to hoon round the stubble fields. Sometimes I'm really stiff for days if we've been particularly energetic, but I will never give up. Suspect I will still be hobbling up the yard with my zimmer in my eighties :D

Happy Birthday Rose Folly ! :D

I'm 45. Feel young in my mind, but physically........................ 90 :(
I've got osteoarthritis of my spine and both SI joints. I put it down to all the years I worked with horses. Rattle when I walk with all of the painkillers I have to take.

I have a 3yo and a 4yo though, keeps me feeling positive when I'm in constant pain. :)

No i can't ride anymore. :( However my mum & dad bought me 2 mini shetlands last year, one is 20 mths the other 10 mths. i cant walk far before severe pain sets in but having our own yard means i can just pootle around at my own speed and do as much or as little as i'm able. If i'm really tanked up on painkillers i can take them out for little walks in the woods behind us. As they're so small i can sit on a stool to groom and pamper them....they do love their pamper sessions :)

i know that in reality 47 isnt old, i just didnt think id be in the state im in till i was 90

i guess i should take inspiration from you ladies who are still enjoying yourselves despite the advancing years. And thanx for the b'day good wishes
