How old for a butcher's bone?

Finally managed to get some bones from the local butcher, but wondered if a 4 month old puppy should be getting a bone? They are huge, ribs with meat and fat on them. I think I am going to have to find a big chopper to make them smaller. Also I don't want her to gorge on the fresh meat and then throw up!

Advic on introducing bones, please, for a terrier.

Strip of as much meat as you can but leave a little and let her go at it.

Mine has had bones from about 8 weeks old. great big knuckle ones, he loves them. he chews away at them rather than anything else so no damage or destruction to anything. now 4 1/2 months old. and has a new big bone every couple of weeks. Never actually eats all the bone, just sort of knaws at it when he wants something to do)

All of my four month olds would be having chook frames and meaty bones by then,it helps with teething as well.
