How old is your hat?

Wow it's scary! I had been wearing a hat that's about 5 years old but was bucked off and landed on the back of my head/hat :( so resorted back to my original hat which was about 10 years old :eek: until I got my lovely new hat for Xmas :).
After what royal said think I'll have to get a new hat more regularly :cool:.
 
my gpa is about 7 years old although it did spend about 5 years sitting in the tack room at home before i started wearing it again. my velvet hat must be even older but its so comfy and ive never had a bad fall in it

.....and flat caps (been there, done that - in the bygone past, yes, even the headscarf:o)

Someone (who spent his life hunting and writing about it) said that they simply held your brains in after a fall, Humpty Dumpty style:(
 
I had two hats which I've had somewhere between 10 and 15 years, I think. They were very cheap, very ugly and only up to some American safety standard, but after trying and buying one which was as comfy as riding hatless, I bought a spare. Then a couple of years ago one got chewed by a horse, I tried on a few different styles and still hated them all, so I set out looking for another the same and the only one I could find was in a cupboard in a tack shop with no box that was so covered in dust it had probably been there as long as my first two, lol.
 
My last hat I had for 5 years or so :o I fell off as well :o It had gotten so loose i could fit a hand in the front!

Went to Olympia last year, and my lovely Dad bought me a nice new one! Originally tried on one type of skull cap, but it didnt fit my shape head, so was sent to another place, and now have my current one :) Fits like a glove!
