How old was you when you started to ride?? :)

ARRGGGGHHHH I can't bear it any longer^^^^^^

Oh, and I got a set of 10 riding lessons for my seventh birthday to answer the question.

4 on a bad tempered Shetland, if you got it wrong she chucked you off, I spend around 6 months getting thrown off at least 8 times a lesson, I was a slow learner! But boy did she teach me, mainly not to mess with Shetlands! I think a Shetland is the best for teaching kids manners! :D:D:D

27 yo for me..... I was bored one day, and was driving past a riding school. I just took a sharp turn in without really thinking about it, and asked. "when is your next available lesson?" They said "In 5 Minutes". I had six months of lessons, and then went to Ireland to buy my first horse....

I started having lessons at age 9, almost 10. Although I had sat on a pony before, my cousins shetland called Speedy, who I'm sure I fell off! I went through 4 riding schools before going to equine college for a year in 2008 ages 17, almost 18. When I came back I had my first share horse who was fantastic and taught me so much, I've just had to give up my second share as I've moved. So although I've ridden a lot of horses I've not had much real horse owning experience.

aged 4 on an 18hh shire in rural Ireland. Not stopped since. Doctor told me to stop due to injury, I said, "are you mad?" The pain is worth it!

My mum and auntie rode sporadically as teenagers. I begged mum for lessons and started at a local riding school when I was 7. First pony I rode was a 13.2hh bay mare called Gem. Mum and auntie started riding again and then my cousin started and then my brother. My auntie bought a skewbald cob called Paddy who was a working livery, she has since had 3 other horses and still has a ID X grey mare called Skittles who is semi retired.

I rode reguarly up until I was 17/18 and then only got back into it seriously when I was 22 and met my now husband who brought his novice eventer to livery at the same yard we were on. We now have 2 horses, a 17.3hh TB X 9 year old gelding and a 15.1hh 12 year TB X mare.

Totally non horsey family, but started at 5 as I bored my parents into giving in, got my own pony 2 years later.

I count myself very lucky :)

Nerves have gotten really bad now in my 30's as I now know what can happen :)

Started having proper riding lessons at about 10 I think after years of nagging! Had a bit of a horsey break when I discovered boys tho! lol! Horse mad as ever again now & have been for many many years, love my beautiful girl to bits!

I was forced to ride at an early age, I hated it, I was also forced to play tennis, the piano, I chose to play with boys. It stood me in good stead as I realised boys were crap, the piano was boring and tennis required picking up a lot of balls. That was a LONG time ago!!
