This may have been done before. Only posting to be nosey.

I rode as a child, but stopped around 13/14... I'm 23 now and have been riding again for almost 2 years again. Well and truly hooked. so...

I started having lessons at 11yo then 6 months later I got my own pony and have had horses since then!

I first sat on a horse when i was 3, i wouldnt call it riding tho!! But ive been riding ever since (now 24)

My mum was a riding instructer so as soon as I could sit up alone, I was on pony's and would usually end up in her lessons on whatever pony was free - got my own loan pony at 3 and a half and parents bought me a pony (welsh Sec C) at 6 for my birthday.
The past year without a horse and without riding due to having my daughter is the longest I have ever gone!

I started riding when I was 12, had a horse when I was 13 for 5 years then had 10 yrs off then had another for 3 yrs then had another 6 yrs off and now bought my 4 yr old a pony, I plan to not have any time off from horses anymore, they are the best

Started having lessons when I was 10 after much begging, had lessons on and off for about 8 years until I went to university, had a long break while I was at university (apart from going on a riding holiday every year) and started having lessons again about a year ago. I always missed it when I wasn't riding but just couldn't afford it.

Sat on a horse when I was 4 and have been riding ever since. My parents hoped it was just a "phase" and i'd stop when I discovered boys...unfortunately for them I can multitask and the horse passion never went away! 21 yrs later and i'm still going through the "phase"!

Since i was 4yo

ETS: My parents thought it was a "phase" too... oh how wrong they were either that or a "phase" is a very long time!

Started riding at 6, got a pony at 7, had a 2 year break during my A-levels then bought another horse at 20 and have been going ever since, im 27 now btw!

Since before I could walk (you would think I would be good at it after all that time. Just goes to show...!)

Start lessons when I was 6, first horse at 14 (parents decided I might not be going through a phase after all) and am still riding nearly thirty odd years later! Still have my first horse too, plus three others.

I went to this farm and was lead around on a horse when i was bout 5. From then on i'd always wanted to ride - but we never lived near any rding schools. Then we moved up glos way and i've been riding since i was 11 for 4 yrs at a riding school. I improve like anything but then i wouldn't improve anymore. So i think it was late june early july last year i got my first horse! So haven't been in the horsey world for very long

But i love it - as long as i'm not getting grief from YO. When i do - i wish the poor horseys lived somewhere kind

But i'm happy now because they live in an orchard - someones 2 1/2 acre back garden kinda thing, no stables or nout but getting 3 mobile ones next wednesday!! and i get no grief and even though i don't get to ride for much at the mo until i get my stables to keep the tack in, i prefer being happy with no nagging to having a 13 acre field, menage, stables but nagging! if that makes sense.

Feels good to get that out in the open =]

Thanks.

mum was very into horses so was plonked on top before i could walk!
did leadrein etc and have been riding ever since, my mare went on loan less than a month ago so im horseless for the first time in a very very long time!

(and no immediate plans to get a new one as moving abroadin 12 months **sob**)

I went to lessons at a riding school when I was 5 and then got my first pony when I was 11 and have had horses and been riding ever since.

Mum sat me on my pony when I was a few months old. Plus she fell off a racehorse when she was 4 months pregnant with me. (explains a lot!)

My brother was sat on a 17 hand racehorse as his introduction to riding (though thankfully it wasn't the one that chucked my mum off!)

First sat on a horse at age of 3. Started lessons when I was 8 approx...had a break from 19 to 24 (Uni and then work commitments). Then loaned a horse and finally bought one aged 26.

Started lessons at 43 after watching daughters have lessons as they came into their teens over the years. Glad to see there are at least 3 others as I type who learnt as adults!

Sat on a pony at 9 days old.

Won first rosette at 18 months - and then promptly chewed it.

By 4 was galloping through Epping Forest following my mum over ditches but on lead rein on roads until 7. However, I had the most fantastic pony any kid could have.

Probably explains why I am so bandy legged.

I love your pics - especially the top one - she's even holding the reins (sort of)!

I was 9 when I first started and have been riding ever since (now 23), part-loaned at 11, own pony at 12 and have had at least one ever since

first started riding at 4. Begged and borrowed ponies and self taught, had proper lessons at about 9 i think.

My own kids... J started at 5, and R first sat on a pony at 18 months. They have their own pony now which they both ride.
