i suppose just advertise in the same way as you would with selling, there's alot of sites with sections specifically for loans. perhaps it might be worth writing down a few things first so you know what to put in your ad. like maybe explain a little about why he's going out on loan, a bit about him, what kind of arrangement you want, if you want him to stay nearby or dont mind him being moved.

the person that wanted him for a year before she paid was to give her a chance to get the money together the only advantage was that she was willing to give me enough now to pay my bill. i'm just not sure if she's got enough experience to give him the help he needs now. Bloody hell i just don't know what to do.

If you are still wanting to sell him, you could try sending him to someone semi-professional, who would compete/ride him and sell him on. I suppose they would then take a cut of the money, but at least you wouldnt be paying livery??

He looks lovely. I am surprised you are having trouble selling tbh.

Beautiful horse. If I lived in Surrey, and was considering buying another horse, I would definitely go and check him out. I can see why the 'eventer' bloke was so interested in him..

OK here goes!!

Can you do some ads print them off and take round to all the stables, tack shops, feed merchants, news agents etc in the area? If you can't do an ad I can do it for you if you can send me some pictures or put them on here as attachments to your posts. I can't get them off your freeads site.

If you want maybe (I know it's advertising and frowned upon on this forum) but either attach the ad in a printable form so people on here can put it up at their yards etc or ask people to PM you to get it, I don't mind putting ads up in my local yards etc for you, I am in Herts but not that far from Surrey. There's a couple of yards near me that are into jumping and dressage so may be interested in him. Also maybe put in the ad that you may be willing to put him on loan to an approved home. I am close to Patchets equestrian centre and they have regular dressage and jumping shows, there's one today so if you are quick I can get an ad in their shop for you, hundreds of people compete there regularly!!!

Last resort maybe look for yards that could put him out 24/7 for minimal rent, so you almost turn him away for a year or so while you get back on your feet? My yard does 24/7 turnout!! What do they charge at your place? Can you advertise for a sharer? Are there any good riding schools or training establishments that may be interested in taking him on for their top clients only? Try Chris and Pippa Heywood they are instructors in my area, very nice people, both compete and may be interested in him 07968 726644. Look back on posts on here for people looking for a horse and PM them!!!!

I advertised my horse for loan in horsemart and have loads of responses. I had planned on seeing everyone (that worked out at 2 people per day for 2 weeks once I hade weeded out the wronguns!!!!) I ended up loaning him to the first girl that came and selling him to her 4 weeks later. I did end up reducing the price but was pleased that I had found the right home for him. I advertised him for loan with view to buy.
Its a real shame that I don't know more about whats happening with my mare as he would definatly be the sort of lad I would bel ooking for to loan with view to buy. Ah well if he is still about in a month or so you never know.......
