how ro grow a pulled tail out?

Title should read "How TO grow a pulled tail out?"!!!!

When I got my mare 9 months ago her tail had been very shortly trimmed up the sides (the cut/razored/very extreme tail raked look!) and I have kept this up but am now utterly sick of it as I really only compete every few months at dressage and it has to be cut every couple of weeks to keep neat and I actually think it doesnt suit her.

Sooo how do I grow it out but avoid the bog brush look ?? (its basically short all over the top half of the dock area). Any pictures would help too.. ;-)

It will look like a bog brush...it is unavoidable, but worth it I feel!

The only think you can do to make it less like a bog brush is put a tail bandage on to flatten it as far as I know.

Grow it out over winter - it will go through a messy phase, but will be long enough to plait by the next show season...x

i pulled my youngsters tail last November then promptly decided i did not like it and have been growing it out ever since, its still not back to normal though i just dampened the top of his tail and it has never looked rally bad but he has not got loas of hair..x
