How safe ARE OUR horses?????

Our old ILPH pony was freezemarked, but the numbers never really showed up (she was palomino). I am now seriously thinking abut having our lot freezemarked but as we have another palomino I wouldn't want the numbers to become indistinct again. Does anyone know if I was just unlucky first time round or if there is always this problem with lighter colours.
I have also thought about joining Horsewatch but never got round to it, but am going to do something about it right now!

I have been thinking about getting my new boy microchipped and freeze marked. TBH, the people I have talked to think that freezemarking is a waste of time because of the amount that the organisations charge to keep you on a database. In my mind, this is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Any recommendations for which organisation to go for, and what sort of prices do they charge? Thanks.
