Not sure if thats the right way to word it.
Do you wear a hat, gloves body protector etc. when leading horses or around horses or just for riding?
Was reminded tonight that I should, I always wear gloves when riding and leading, think I will start wearing my hat again when leading.
Was leading Monty in tonight and something had clearly wound him up, was pulling down the track in the field to the gate then we couldn't go in the back way to the yard today so had to walk down the road to the front of the yard so get on the road and he is still pulling, trying to lean into me, ocasionally shaking his head and went straight up  Its what he does when having a strop (I got out the way but still held him) he can be a bit handy with his legs. So glad someone had offered to help me get them in today as i usually lead two together and glad I didn't let him get away with it.

Fairly - don't wear a hat or BP for handling usually unless there is a chance a horse will go up - will put a hat on then!

I'm a trainer for H&S at work (small part of my main job) so I now automatically do a mental risk assessment before I do anything. I know, I'm sad :D but "what if" is second nature to me and it never stops me doing something, just makes me look around and think about a little more rather than just going and doing it by rote, if that makes sense?

I always wear leather gloves at the yard, this saved me from a very nasty hand injury once when unloading and my mare pushed past and my hand got squashed under the breast bar. I had severe bruising, but would probably have broken my finger if it hadn't been for the gloves.

Also, always wear my steel toe cap boots around the yard, I've been trod on too many times already.

Probably not enough.

I never wear a hat or BP to handle our horses, even our youngster who can be tricky sometimes to pick out his feet.

I don't wear gloves all the time either.

I will be replacing my hat in the new year, as feel its a little old now (proba only 2-3 years old though, not ancient)

I always wear a hat and gloves when I ride, I don't wear a BP Unless I'm doing XC but I do kit my horse (and me) out in flourescent gear for hacking.

I will only wear a hat if I am handling a horse that is likely to go up or one that I know kicks (I got kicked in the head when Clipping this partiular beast the other month, was so lucky I had a hat on!). Will also wear gloves if handliing a particually bargy/strong/rude horse.

Not at all. But I'm not proud of it. I wear a hat to ride. That's as far as it goes.

Very rarely wear gloves apart from when it's cold. Def no hat or BP for leading. I will bring them in in trainers if that is what I have on.

I never grumble about the injuries I sustain from it though if that makes it any better

I wear a hat if loading.

I wear a hat when riding.

I always put on gloves when lunging and riding on a cold day but I always get annoyed with them and they end up in my pocket.

Gear up in hi viz for riding.

BP for cross country or youngsters.

Suitable shoes, riding in trainers bugs me big time!

Always wear Hat & Gloves when riding

Just considering buying a body protector for riding

Only wear a hat leading if the horse is likely to go up....and gloves when cold

Im a H&S consultant so always mentally assesing everything (sad i know:D!!)thats why im always thinking what if and considering a body protector at mo. I work in the construction industry and deal with some pretty horrendous incidents if only people some times wore the equipment they were provided it would have prevented so terrible injuries so it just comes second nature to me i suppose.

I always wear a hat when riding.
BP only worn at shows and gloves worn occassionally when riding/ now when it's bitterly cold.

When leading etc, I don't wear gloves, hat etc.
I really should be more safety conscious.
