How soon after topping field ?

How soon after topping a field can horses go back out, the fields are full of buttercups so does that make a difference to how long they should stay off them?
Fields were topped this morning and horses in today and overnight but will they be alright to be turned out tomorrow?

Having had a horse which colicked gorging on the toppings, I don't turn out until all the toppings have been raked up and disposed of.

Seriously though, we top very regularly with a mulching deck and we have no ragwort. There are no remnants visible when we cut.

It is a how long is a piece of string really as, if it hasn't been topped regularly, there may be a lot of cut grass on top. I would not allow access to that until it had dried up and gone.

You take the horses out?

We use a 'Cut and Collector' so that all the cut grass is removed.
I would suggest leaving the horses off the field for at least one full week after it has been topped.
