Past couple of days I've been taking my youngster out in-hand and she strides out on the way out. Stops and back-ups on the way :) However, when we've turned for home, she's decided "No thanks," and plants her feet. It took us ages to get home yesterday (only going for 10 minute walks down our track).

Anywho, if you turn and continue down the track, she walks along quite merrily. To do a circular route, I would be on the road for half an hour and we are building up to this but it's too much for the moment so we are having to go back the way we come.

Anyone else have a horse that naps the minute you turn for home? :D

Yep mine naps as soon as you turn for home, straight back towards home!! Never seen a horse walk quite as fast as he does to get back to his stable and ask him to stand and he throws a hissy fit hehe!! But seriously that is odd, bless her enjoying her time out, must enjoy seeing all the new sights!

She's a funny little pony. She also opened her mouth and snapped her head round as though to bite - she was miles away from me with that though - as though to show her displeasure as she only did it on the way home! She did get a pop with the cotton lead rope and that stopped her.

To watch her, she is so nervous and jumpy. She jumps when you walk past her stable! Yet, today she thoroughly exploring - she was brave enough to get close to sniff the wheelie bins lined up but not to touch them. One of the neighbours at the bottom of the road has a stick with a piece of white cloth attached so after lots of snorting, we managed to touch it and get away from it before we tried to eat it. We also passed our first horse. She stopped to watch it go past and then continued down the road quite merrily.

We love to stand and watch the chickens running around and speak to the donkey...
