Today was my "big day" xrays been taken to see if my horse would be ok in the end or not....
so out comes the vet and takes loads of x rays, we all sit around the table and are looking at them for ages discussing whats next- all sounding pretty good we can see 2 lines (which surprised me i thought only 1 fracture) We are happy- vet go's home........y/o says "well i swear he just xrayed the wrong leg".........Oh poo, Yes we really did do the wrong leg!

How unbelievably thick, I cant honestly think why the hell i didnt notice!

anyway he came back sheepishly and re-did them this time on the right leg!

Its pretty much good news still got another 2 months at least off work but he's alive and staying alive so thats all i ask right now i guess!

lol, bit like our farrier testing horses foot, not only wrong leg but wrong horse! He was surprised when no tenderness showed up and I had missed the conversation about horse being lame so just stood and watched wondering what he was doing to Raff!

Glad its positive news for you.

When I was doing work exp the vets were putting a camera into a horse's knee to see the amount of damage... so in goes the scope, lovely clean joint no damage... yup wrong leg... "oh well" said the vet "at least we've shown you how it should look" and went on to do the correct one...

Hehe I'm sure it happens quite often! He's not been obviously lame in some time now and when the vet just got with it it just didnt occur to me!

Another vet at the surgery was quite smug that "at least its not only me then!" lol bless her think we made her day!
