Working donovan these last couple of weeks I am noticing he is becoming really sweaty. I know its been very hot, I am trying to work him in the evenings when its cooling down but he still sweats up lots of white foamy sweat under his harness, round his neck and between his back legs. I feel he is quite fit as he regains his normal breathing fairly quickly after work, I am just not sure if I am pushing him too much because of this sweating?

I always found my girl got really sweaty when driving when she hardly sweated up riding. Not sure why, maybe it uses larger areas of muscle more consistently? I wouldn't worry about it as long as he is keen and recovers his breathing quickly, I think almost every driving pony I know sweats more driving than riding.

Foamy sweat is normal in this weather...the foam bit is due to the protein latherin which enables the heat to dissipate more effectively by increasing the surface area thus allowing more efficient evaporation and therefore heat loss to aid cooling:)
