I'm struggling to remember to call them that because they weren't born until May. Welshies - one is 10.3 and the other 11.1. I hope they grow a bit more, particularly the 10.3 one! How does the string test work again? How tall are yours?

I don't do dinky ponies but my ISH was 15.2 ish at 2yrs old. He's now rising 4 and 16.2hh.

My cob was about 13.1 at 2yrs old and made 14.2 and the all important bit as an adult.

Highland pony was 13hh at 2yrs ( and quite a poorly foal). He's now almost 14hh as a rising 4 yr old

Little ponies will grow less from 2yrs ols but I'd expect another 3 inches at least (if they're rising 2)

Mine's officially two but actually just 18 months. He's about 15hh. I'm a bit horrified, I was expecting 15.1 when full grown but he's bigger than that at the back already.

Harry is currently around 13.2. He's technically something like 2 years, 2-3 months. Hope there's plenty of growing left on him.

My 2 YO IDXWB is 15.2hds, her brother who is 5 is now 16.2, different sire, but expecting her to be around the same. Seem to remember that he was 15.2ish at this age too. Mum is ID, and is about 15.2 on her tip toes.

We bought a yearling she was 13.2 at 18 months, ended up so far about 15.3 ( shes rising 5)

Mine's 15.2hh at 21 months. At least. She was last measured (at that height) about 6 months ago. I refuse to admit that she may be bigger, but everyone walks past her stable and says 'my god! she's huge! has she grown again?' :)

My ID was 14.2 or 3(can't remember) last measured a couple months back 15.1 at the bum. He's had a little growth spurt since but I don't like to call him 2 he's 18moths :p his sire 17.3 mw hunter and dam 16.1 ID x string test gave me 19.2 Ha so I'm hoping for 16.3 He's on stilts his legs are as long as the shire x at the minute

The coblet is 13.2 should make 14.3ish we think. hmmm

I don't do tiny either but my boy Ben was a quick grower even though he was only fed on a hi fi lite/fast fibre combination with a vitamins and mineral supplement by the time he was two he was 15.2, he's now 4.5yrs and still the same height.

My 2 year old welsh D (3 in august) has measured 15hh wither height, and 15.1hh bum height, still loads more room to grow!

oo pretty photo!!

My youngster is 2 1/2 and is about 15hh and he was meant to make 15.1hh full grown so a bit nervous! He is the most solid little chap built like a percheron up top!

My youngster was rising 2 when I got him and was 12.2. I've had him 6 months and measured him again and he's now 13hh! He's very bum high, at 13.3/14hh and I want him to be at least 14hh as I want to jump him :)

Edited just to say he's a norwegian fjord :)

Mines not 2 till may but she is 15hhs at withers at min and bum high her dam is 15.2hhs and sire 16.2hhs but grand sires 17.1hhs. I think she will be 16-16.2hhs.

Well I'm reading this curious to what my 9 month old will be who standing at 14 withers and 14.3 bum. I think 15.3 - 16 but not sure now whether will be taller :-)

My three year old (april 2011) gelding who is supposedly IDxTB is just around 15hh just now. He full brother made 15.2hh so I am hoping we will get a few more inches.

OP hope you don't mind me asking:

What age is the string test reliable from? Is there any point doing it at this age and which method?

My rising 3y/o (3 in april) IDX cob mare was 15hh when we got her as a rising 2y/o, she is now around 15.3 but the string test says she will make 16.1 which I think, for her, is about accurate as she's very physically mature for her age :)

V was 15hh at 18 months back in November and has grown again. He will be 2yo in May, was supposed to make 15.2hh - 15.3hh - oops!
