How tall are your horses that fit into 6ft-6ft6 rugs?

My old 16.3 wore 6'3s or occasionally 6'6s. He was pretty short backed though.

They are stupid. It depends on the length of the back and hindquarters, and on the width of the chest and shoulders.

ETA - And it depends on how deluded the person who put the size on the rug was, rug sizes are almost as inaccurate as human dress sizes!

16.2hh is a 6'3 or 6'6 dependant on make, but a 6ft in thermatex and masta stable rugs for some odd reason!!!!!

It's not the height that's relevant but the length! Also the type of rug as some are generously cut and some aren't. If the horse is chunky it may need a bigger size depending on how the neck is cut.

I have a 16hh who wears 6'3".

My lad is as wide in the chest as he is along his back, hence mark todd rugs fit him sooo well, he needs the 6ft 9 as he uses it up in his width - if that makes sense

Be (16-16.1) is currently in a 6'3" rambo.

When I first bought her she measured up as needing a 6ft, which I splashed out on buying her a lush wardrobe off, and then she outgrew them

Then I measured her with topline, and in work, and bought her 6'6" rugs... Now she's out of work though, those are too big so for the third winter in a row I've had to kit her out in a new size!

16.3hh in a 6ft 6 but can squeeze into a 6ft stable rug as an under rug if the need arises!
