How Tall???

This is my 8 month old New Forest foal. His mare is 13.2hh and the sire is even smaller, however the foal is already only a couple of inches smaller than the mare. The sire even though small has been known to produce 14hh and overs. I'm wondering from the size he is now how tall he will mature too? I'm really hoping for 14hh +. What do you think??

Hard to say at that age - should make 14hh though! If you have him gelded early he will grow taller. He looks to be a very nice sort x

I breed New Forests and by the look of him he is still bum high. So if his withers are already at 13.2hh he should easily make 14hh+. You might find that he does all his height growing by 2yrs, then just thickens out.

What's his breeding?

Take a look at his grandparent's heights- they can help you work out how big he's going to be. For example, if they were both 14h+, then you'd have a better chance of him making that. If they were, say, 13.1h ish, then he might not make 14h+.
