Seeing as the ones I currently own I've had about 10 years and I nearly have a hernia getting myself shoe-horned into them, I ordered some more from Derby House. Two size swopsies later and I think they are still too big?? They are baggy behind my knees - should jods be skin tight?

Mine are all tight, but I see loads of people wearing quite loose ones. I don't have one pair that go baggy at the knees/bum after wearing them a few hours. I hate that!

They feel a bit odd the loose ones and like you say as they get washed and worn they are likely get even looser.

I'll stick with skin tight - I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some horsey fashion faux paus I was about to make!

I meant to say I have seen people clearly wearing 2 sizes to small for them and its not a nice sight, that what I mean by tight jods, mine I would say are tight but comfy they dont look tight they just look fitted.

I wore the cheapest nastiest pair of stupidly tight johds at work yesterday (they were marked the right size) and i think i now have two dents in my hip bones.... didn't help i rode 3/4 shire bareback and pure percheron (on his first hack, oh so proud and v tempted to put a self indulgent post on)

I would say it depends who's wearing them?!!

Mine are tight, quite tight id say... but im blessed with long legs and i think they look quite flattering if worn fitted by the right body shape.

It depends on who is wearing them. If you're like the teenagers at the yard then they have to be so tight I think their feet turn purple

I have no idea how they manage to move in them...

Derby House ones are a bit of a funny fit....if they're right on the waist, they're too big on the knees (and I haven't got small knees).
Best to shop around at a big tack store if you get chance and try loads on, or if you're brave, at a show.
Equetech seem to fit me OK, and some Dublin ones.

I don't like jods/breeches to be baggy but I do like them to be close fitting. 'figure hugging' ie; not sprayed on but not so they bag either.

I always think they should fit like leggings?
