A grey ID gelding, 16.1hh. gets very bored in his stable. i was wondering what you guys recomend to keep him happy :D i am happy to try anything. please can you also say if you have tried things but they havent worked too well aswell, so i dont buy something that will last a few mins :) cheers

Is there any reason why he can't be turned out? Turn out is the best boredom breaker there is IMO

Failing that how about a stable mirror? Swede on a rope? Apples in water bucket, double netted hay/haylage, treats hidden in hay net, snack ball thingy?

What have you tried in the past?

My grey 16.3 ID is the same :) this stint of box rest he is very bored. When he was on long term box rest he had a mirror, a ball, a likit hanging ball thing, you name it he had it, towards the end he got fed up - ate the mirror and the stable and trashed everything. He is now on box rest again and is eating the walls, mainly because he is on rations and thinks he is starving but still.................. hope you find something :)

the balls that you can put treats in seem to work really well kept my ID amused for hours, as well as putting apples in the water buckets (that was mainly for stopping water freezing) but he spent about two hours the first night i done it chasing them round his bucket...he's not very intelligent ;) not sure what else tbh as he loves his stable and is gutted that he is out 24/7 for the summer for the first time, i usually have to keep him in to stop him from getting fat!
