I use carr and day and martin leather soap. I clean excess dirt off (using back of a knife to scrape off horrid stuck on bits) then using slightly damp sponge work all over leather. Wipe with clean cloth leave to dry then pop some leather conditioner on. x

I thoroughly clean my bridle once a month by taking it completely apart - getting rid of all the grease with a knife and tooth pick, wash with warm water, leave to dry, apply saddle soap, leave to dry then wipe it off and put on stubben leather basalm, i used to always win best turn and tack out at PC Camp for doing it that way

. Every day I always make sure I clean off the grease and apply saddle soap twice a week. Seems to keep it well managed and makes it easier to clean for competition. I do the same with my saddle, boots (but use black dubbin instead of saddle soap) and breastplate.

dont you get black jodhpurs using black dubbin? i would wash well with warm water, get rid of all grease and grime, then oil and leave overnight then saddle soap! i am a fan of stubben saddle soap leaves a lovely gleam, not sticky and smells good!

Use a good leather feed, such as Effax or Hamanol. Your leather and purse will love you for it
