How to confuse a dumb-blood???!!!!!

Yup, take him to a livery yard with swivel mangers. Show him his feed, put it in the manger, swivel the manger. He can't find it so you have to go in with him and show him his feed. Every day. For two weeks:(
 
Hahaha that made me laugh so much - he was completley confused, even after running around he still wouldnt go near him! My boy has stupid moments all the time, I set him off by standing at the gate after turning him out once instead of walking away like I normally do, he came over to see what was going on then legged it (to be fair he had been on boxrest and walker for 2 weeks cause he threw his splint), i got a bit of it on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj6yWvIAjoo :)
 
Something similar happened to mine, he is also a WB! He has grown up with his mate a ISHxTB who I have to admit is significantly brighter. For the last two summers when they were three and four, he didn’t recognize his mate in a fly mask and rug. Sadly his mate bullies him, in turn when anyone new is in the paddock he picks on them, to him he this monster in a fly mask/rug was new so he turned on him. Big mistake! His mate showed him his heels, protected the water trough and was generally nasty which resulted in mine walking around like a lost sole crying for help for two hours. We were unkind and just laughed. I am still stunned that he could make the same mistake twice.
 
Take his friend out of the school, take said friend to field. Come back for DB. Said DB at other end of school, open gate WIDE. DB sees gate open wide but still doesn't twig that that is the "escape" route to follow friend! (He's 27yrs young, been there done that etc!) Still not grown a braincell!

Another time I put a fly rug on one of the ponies, he nearly had a heart attack. It was the scariest mauve monster he had ever seen in his life. The worst bit was it MOVED! :D

Actually I have to say not all WB are dumb, Captain is a KWPN Gelderlander and he is the most intelligent horse I have ever met. He solves problems and applies knowledge. Learns incredibly quickly and never forgets what he has learnt. It is not always good. EG he accidentally took the gate off when his herd leader called. Later in the summer he was seen running at the gate and pulling up. Weather changed and did it again, removed the gate then took himself into the stable. Now he is a nightmare he has learnt how to do it and does it if the weather gets cold or windy :mad:

So TBH I would not complain if he was a dumb blood.
