Hasten to add that I'm talking about my mare!
Just when we thought that the marble was working...hasn't come in season for five weeks.
YM told me yesterday that madam was squealing and squirting again, but she's been so quiet to handle I almost disbelieved him.
Was having a lesson last night and she was going really well, when the 3yo colt popped his head over the gate in the next field (fortunately separated from the arena by a bank!)
She slammmed the anchors on and according to my instructor, the flood gates opened! Managed to get her going again, but every time I went up that end of the arena, it was back to squatting and weeing again.
She wasn't even being particularly difficult in stopping, because it must be virtually impossible to canter with your legs that far apart
I'm loathe to put her back on the regumate, because when she's not showing other horses 'her wares' she's fine to ride and handle, but obviously I can't take her to a show where there's any risk of her being in contact with a stallion, too dangerous for the stallion's owner and us.
Any suggestions?
