Hasten to add that I'm talking about my mare!
Just when we thought that the marble was working...hasn't come in season for five weeks.
YM told me yesterday that madam was squealing and squirting again, but she's been so quiet to handle I almost disbelieved him.
Was having a lesson last night and she was going really well, when the 3yo colt popped his head over the gate in the next field (fortunately separated from the arena by a bank!)
She slammmed the anchors on and according to my instructor, the flood gates opened! Managed to get her going again, but every time I went up that end of the arena, it was back to squatting and weeing again.
She wasn't even being particularly difficult in stopping, because it must be virtually impossible to canter with your legs that far apart

I'm loathe to put her back on the regumate, because when she's not showing other horses 'her wares' she's fine to ride and handle, but obviously I can't take her to a show where there's any risk of her being in contact with a stallion, too dangerous for the stallion's owner and us.
Any suggestions?

ur right, ur mare is a trollop!! even worse than mine by the sounds of it!! lol im sorry i cant b of ne help, but the marble, did the vet have 2 sort that out? was it expensive?

The marble is pretty economical - less than £50 although we did take her to the surgery so no call out, so I still think it was worth a gamble. Apparently it works in 50% of mares, and another mare on our yard that had it done is much, much better.
Even our mare is better behaved, if a little embarrassing, last year her fixation with s-e-x made her nappy and impossible, to the extent that I had to do an emergency dash for regumate 3 days before a big championship show!

No- the plan is to breed from her, but she's competing at the mo, doing really well in western showing so we really want to have a couple more seasons enjoying that first. Agree that the marble is not expensive...we were resigned to £100 or more, especially as the regumate is £150 for 10 weeks supply!

ouch!!! i think i mite consider it when my filly is older, she is a total trollop 2, but is currently stabled on the same yard as a stallion + is totally in love with him!! lol
