My horse was completely fine the whole of spring and summer but every autumn I seem to be having problems getting her in from the field she try’s to run in circles bucks and rears . she only does this leading her out of field and away from friends and stop when we came out of gate . My non horsey mam think we should leave her there i dont think my mother understands horse behaviour and thinks it’s punishment .

One of ours (the wimpy one!) comes in being led in a chifney. When he was a youngster he was a horse with "attitude". This used to wind all the others up who obviously thought " Hah! This is a good game!" and copy him. The chifney is still used, just in case he has a fit of deja vue.

Hat and a lunge line and if it was me, when you have plenty of time, I would just walk in and out 100 times until it is so boring for you both.

I find a nice calm session of repeating like that nips it straight in the bud, no jostling or emotion from you, you have all of the time in the world until she is down on your energy level
