As title - both seem lovely, Coniston very slightly more comfortable but supicious of the zip in terms of longevity and reliability when its muddy.....
Any opinions?
Any opinions?
I love my Grasmeres (and Glaciers which can be had for a very good price new from an ebay seller atm - not me I hasten to add!) and can be found wading up to mid-calf in them. I wouldn't want to do that with the Conistons
I'd go for the Windermere's instead very comfy and really waterproof, no zip either which was a plus for me
The glaciers are the all leather version of the grassmeres, I prefer them as i dont like suede and am waiting for mine to arrive right now!
could i ask Ariat for new zips?
Thanks all - I think I'll go for the Glacier, never been that keen on suede shoes! It's weird, I've looked at loads of sites that sell Ariats, and none of them list the Glacier, but when you look for it specifically it's easy to find. So I wouldn't have found it if you hadn't suggested it - thank you!!
Thinking back I did send them a email at the time it happened and they said to send the boots to them with the receipt (thought it was a different set of boots but remember now it was def the Coniston pair) unfortunately just after that i had major family problems that took over and i never got round to it. Maybe i should try ringing them? I got them when they literally first came out and paid top price for them so was a bit disappointed! Thanks for your help.
If you've made a decision I don't want to complicate things BUT in favour of the Conistons I have this to say:
1. When one of my zips went (after 2 years) Ariat sent me a brand new pair; AND
2. No matter how cold it is I only have to wear one pair of socks and I can always feel my toes (and I have Reynauds so this is pretty amazing).
Love my Conistons. I've never tried any of the others though....
