How to disguise sarcoid supplement?

My mare developed sarcoids last year. I put her on the supplement Sarc-x by global herbs, at first she ate it and it appeared to work as patches of pink skin and where little ones has started to develop dissapeared. she then stopped eating it. I have since tried power against sarcoids (has anyone else used this and had good results?) im not sure it is working as well as the sarc-x. Anyway I cant get her to eat the sarc-x, i have tried molasses, garlic and pepermint cordial! has anyone got any good ideas or had any good results with other supplements preventing sarcoids? Thanks for youe help :confused:
 
Does she like bread? You might be able to sneak it in a jam sandwich. Otherwise syringe in something pleasant tasting
 
I've got one that won't eat it either! Tiresome, innit? But it does smell a bit rank to me so I can't really blame him.

The trouble I have is that Arthur is already a little on the stout side and I can only feed him once a day so to use enough feed to disguise the taste means a hefty meal and it will invariably have to contain something mollassed to disguise the taste. I can get him to eat it if I mix in carrots and apples and apple juice but I'm really not happy to feed all this additional stuff at the mo :(
 
I started using the power against sarcoids two months ago and have been impressed by the results. My mare has had nodular sarcoids for about 9 years now and has had quite a few treatment of the Liverpool cream without success. I have tried absolutely everything herbal etc over the years and nothing has worked.

They started to grow rapidly again after Liverpool treatment and some were getting quite a size. Did some more internet investigation (as you do :-)) and found 'power against sarcoids' so decided to give it a try.

After only a few weeks the sarcoids have started to shrink in size and are continuing to do so. One small one has almost gone its that small.

I am very sceptical about herbal treatments etc as nothing has worked for my mare in the past. It may just be a conincidence but to go from rapidy growing to starting to shrink is amazing.

I don't want to get my hopes up (or anybody elses) but I just hope and pray that they continue to shrink. Even if they don't grow anymore I will be so happy :)
 
Thankfully, I have never had a problem with this but I have a friend whose mare will not touch her food if it has anything powdered in it. My friend gets around this by adding a little apple juice to the feeds and the mare seems to find this acceptable :)
 
To disguise stuff in my boys feeds I find the only thing which works for them is marmite. A good sized dollop, watered down to make a yummy marmite gravy!!
 
Marmite sandwich! Most horses love Marmite.

Or you could buy a large nozzle syringe, mix the SarcX with pureed baby food, the sort that comes in jars or sachets (carrot & apple is good) and syringe it in, as high up as you can. Used this method successfully on my mare, she became really easy to syringe because she liked the taste of it.

Once you find a flavour he likes you can do your own.

I also have The Tank on Sarc X at the moment after developing a lumpy bit this summer.

He refuses to eat bucket feed most of the time (unless it's molassed, which I won't feed).

Tricks to add taste without adding anything 'bad' is to add:

Dried mint (also good for digestion)
Fenugreek seeds (also stimulates appetite)
Cinnamon (helpful for laminitic horses)

However The Tank refuses to be fooled by these tricks

He went mad for Verm X when I tried it in the past (it contains cayenne pepper) so I'm giving him a pinch of Tesco's curry powder in his feed and he wolfs it down!
