How to encourage a horse to "engage"....

OK so I'm thick

. Does it go straight between their legs or cross over?

I'm guessing: clip to bit, between front legs, bring out behind elbow at same side, up over withers, down behind elbow on other side, out again between legs and clip to bit at other side??

Yup, spot on... and it it goes straight up between legs, not crossed over....

Just my luck my draw reins have loops on the end not clips

- can feel some DIY coming on!
