Hi,
please can i have your advise...
i am looking for a horse to ride a couple of days a week.
Ive had my own for years, broke, backed schooled to a decent level etc, not blowing my own trumpet but im okay... i nly gave up due to tim erestrictions (working in London)
I started helping people, training their horses, the first one was a just backed & nervous horse. we progressed well & i was enjoying it but in the end the owner (friend) totally used me & sold it, which i have no prolbem with ... there are more politics involved that need not go into.
so, i moved on to help someone else, similarly just backed nervous horse, petrified of people & couldnt canter. i spend loads of time with him & he turned out pretty well
however again, i was treated awfully and (again) politics involved.
I decided to loan - thinking that if there was a contrat involved things couldnt go so wrong...
the horse is a challenge, a real typical mare but were getting somewhere. then the owner got a new job & a new boyfriend so she has stopped riding... riding the horse that needs to be ridden practically every day. the horse is now dangerous to ride when i do twice a week, cant be lunged as its dangerous & isnt a plesant experience.
this is my hobby & with this horse, it is not fun. i have tried speaking with the owner to encourage riding/lunging but the interest is lost
i have decided to move on but am really unsure of how to go about finding a new horse to loan/ride/train.
I have asked friends but (un)fortunately they are all committed to their horses.
I have tried the local horsey magazines & shops, Is there a committed web site for this sort of thing?
What advise would you give to finding the right horse/owner to love their pony with??
