Anyone else ever been in a similar situation? I have a friend who i used to ride with all the time but shes stopped riding as has a new bf  so at a bit of a loss!
hes not dangerous has just been at tad sharp lately

Feel free to man up and tell me to get on with it and get on!

Ah thats a bit far for the people that I know. Maybe be worth putting it in one of the local facecbook groups? You may get some people reply who may think of it as just getting to ride, but there are people that may see it that could help too?

When I was a paid rider many moons ago I picked up most of my jobs from either Horse and Hound or word of mouth. What about advertising in the local tack shop or the local newspaper?

Personally I'd go with a recommended professional .... you know what you're getting and the job will be done properly.

I'm not saying everyone will; but you don't want to end up with a teenager who talks the talk but cannot walk the walk so to speak.

Might cost you a little more but will be beneficial to you and the horse. Good luck :)

Preloved has a lot of 'rider available' adverts, as does equine adverts (they have a section for 'rider wanted/available'). I suggest posting adverts on all the usual sites as well, you might just get a pro or experienced rider browsing and they will stumble across your ad.

This is quite a common situation, dont feel bad - my share horse's owner had a bad fall and hurt his back following the fall, so he had an instructor riding him once or twice a week before I started sharing him.

I think in your situation you might be best with a pro or instructor riding him, so speak to anyone at your yard who has lessons and see if their instructors would be able to ride for you.
