Hi all, have decided it's time to have a bit of fun.
I have looked on the website and only want to try the novice courses first if all so max 2ft9/3ft. I posted on their fb page anything else I could try.
I'm in south west so am looking at the Cotswold, Grafton and Bicester with whaddon chase?

Grafton is an excellent first one.

I'd email the organisers asking if anyone is looking for member,s but also contact your local riding clubs - e.g. Bicester RC are often putting forward a team and need members.

Make sure you do it as a post to page, not as a message, so other visitors can see it. Most people only fill spaces in their teams in the week before the event so worth a post next Monday for the Grafton and so on.

If you don't want to jump more than 2'9 definitely do your homework before you enter! The official height for novice on the Team Chasing website is 3'3 but some of the hedges on some courses are definitely bigger than that!

We did intermediate at the Berkeley this weekend because their novice was listed as 80cms and very glad we stepped up as the novice there was pretty small and definitely would not have been worth driving all the way from Shropshire to do!

However the other 2 TC's I have done (Worcestershire and Warwickshire) were definitely up to height.

Most of them seem to run a smaller hunter trial or pairs class so maybe that's a good way to go and see what goes on?

It's great fun though - can't believe I haven't taken it up years ago. So much more relaxed than any other competitive sphere. Find another 2 or 3 like minded nutters and give it a go!
