My mare, amongst many of her other issues, is extremely obsessed with another mare she used to live with.
I've now moved her in a field next door where she's pretty far away and can't see this mare. She's okay up until the point where a few of the other horses from the herd the other mare lives with go out and the other mare starts calling for them.
My mare will then gallop around nonstop until these other horses return and the other mare stops calling for them.
I don't know what else to try.
Currently on Topspec Calmer which she has been on for three weeks and not doing anything.
Tried magnesium calmers and herbal.
Tried putting a feed out for her in a shelter so she gets distracted.
She's got company too.
I don't know what else to do!
Her being tense and stressed is completely counter productive if I ever want to stop her dropping weight, ulcers from returning and her being sore.
What else can I do?
