How to get white boots white again?!

As title really... white boots got muddy today. Hand-washed in warm water with gentle detergent as per directions on boots, but not as white as they could be. Any tips?

What make are they ? I just put mine in the washing machine on a 40 wash and they come up a treat .l

Stick them in the washing machine with a stain remover! - I have has these boots for years, and although they are now not sparkling white, they are pretty clean still. Hand washing is a pain, and not good enough!

my top tip for any white horsey things and even the horse itself is fairy liquid.
i have a pure grey horse and white tail bandages and things for her and i use fairy liquid on both, if it works on dishes it can work on boots and horses
(oh and dont worry about the horse fairy liquid does not contain any ingredients that could irritate the skin and the first time i tried it i test tried it on a small area just to check) yeah so you could try that it usually works

thespanishmane - I did consider the washing machine, and then read the label... I normally ignore labels but decided to try it the label's way first! Good to know they won't disintegrate if I do machine wash them tho, may stick them on tomo
