How to give homeopathic treatment to horse?

But I bet you are quite happy to pay at least £5 for a bottle of wine which only costs £1 to produce, or some snazzy item for your horse because YOU like it, not because the horse needs it, or a takeaway on Friday nights because you can't be bothered to cook, or makeup because you want to look like the model, or a particular car because you believed what they said in the advert and so on and so on.

But make up and wine work... ask my OH. I doubt we'd be together without them!

Every genuine person on this forum needs to be aware that skeptics have infiltrated it. These people are paid by the pharmaceutical companies to go on any forum where the word homeopathy is mentioned and attack, attack, attack it. We actually know a woman who was hired to do this, so it is true.
It is exactly the same with forums/websites that are anti-GM food, or anti-vaccines. Corporates pay commenters to go and attack people there.
You can tell the fakes because they have silly names and say silly things.
I don't have a horse myself but I do have a cat which is 18 years old and extremely well on homeopathic medicine.
Best to look at BAHVS which is the homeopathic vet organisation and call them if you need help.

Homeopathy involves diluting so many times that there maybe 1-2 molecules present, but possibly none. Each time it is diluted, it has to be slapped three times with a horsehair paddle (no I am not making this up). It defies the laws of physics.

It may defy the laws of Newtonian physics but it certainly doesn't defy the laws of Quantum physics whereby one particle can exist in two places at the same time and particles behave differently according to how they are observed ;) ;)

Personally I have never used homeopathic remedies so I don't have any experience on which to comment. At the end of they day I think all us horsey owners do what we think is best for our horses and not all approaches are the same.

technically atoms behave differently according to how they are observed.😜😀

Louise you'll be glad to know that I've never been paid or coerced to write anything on a forum and I would not do so either.

I stand by what I wrote. Homeopathy is no more than a placebo.

Assuming this is true, there are still plenty of genuine people (i.e. not paid by big pharma) who are critical of homeopathy to at least think about what we write and not simply dismiss it out of hand.

Surely you are not saying that everyone who criticizes homeopathy has been paid to do so?

I do have faith in complementary treatments, I have used them on myself and used the same one on a pony with a dust allergy, when I asked her how she felt, she said` well mother I ain`t coughing no more`.

I had a vet also who used various forms of complementary treatments alongside conventional, he is nearly a god in the region where he works, he is also a consultant at a veterinary investigation clinic where horses come from all over the world, when for whatever reason they can`t be diagnosed conclusively by other vets, this would, for me be a strong indication that, they do work, or help, not all conventional meds work all the time, often people, animals, get better anyway, whether its comp or conventional.

animals are not aware of any placebo effect.

It's just money for old rope for you then Ester - have fun rolling in all those £50 notes! ;) :p

The cynic in me wonders if Louise sells homeopathic remedies?

Quick everyone whaft some crystals and burn some sage to save us all from big pharma.

Do I guess from your post that you are also against vaccinating? I think this says all we need to know about your state of mind.

I am copying and sending this to several of my friends as they will find this hilarious.

I will always attack homeopathy and other forms of quack medicine on here and more so on the leukaemia Facebook groups which I belong to. The latest on the latter being that all chemotherapy is a "big pharma" conspiracy and cancer can be cured by eating grapes. Everyone has the right to believe whatever nonsense they like, but there is no right to not be challenged, or to be laughed at.

Who do I contact for my payment?

I have worked for pharma in the past, and can confirm that they do lobby to prevent HERBAL medicines getting the same market access as their molecular products. They are a little peeved that someone can come along and sell, for example, St John's Wort for depression (contains fluoxitine, active ingredient of Prozac), without paying for the trials and clinical testing which are expensive and mandatory for pharmaceuticals. There are good arguments for and against testing of herbal medicines, but from a pharma point of view, they want to see barriers to entry of unpatented competitor products.

I have never seen any evidence of them engaging with the homeopathy debate. Nobody with any scientific background whatsoever would waste their time on the argument, and people will always believe quacks.

Similarly, I have not seen any evidence of big pharma campaigning against rabbit feet, faith healers or witch-doctors. :D

I couldn't agree less with it being utter b"llocks, myself and partner have both been treated through conventional medicines for crohns disease and acne/S.a.d
None of which scratched the surface may I add. Homeopathic medicine however it may work has made a substantial difference to both out lives my partner is in remission and I know longer have to deal with the same issues I have previously.
I realise some people may write it off but if your at your wits end with every other therapy/treatment not one of you wouldn't be willing to give it a go.
- That said I've no idea if it works for horses!

I have used homeopathic medicine since 1986 and don't bother with doctors. My own father was a doctor and I saw the terrible side effects of medicines.

This is not a serious forum putting the interests of horses first. I used to get Horse & Hound when I was young.

The forum just seems full of idiotic jokers, who couldn't care less about helping the horses. If they did they would at least try homeopathic medicine.

If you don't think it does anything, what's the harm?

I will not be replying to any more time-wasting comments.

Then your father will also have seen the terrible side effects of diseases and conditions not treated medically.

As has been explained previously, the harm lies in not treating something conventionally - because of an irrational belief that leads irrationally to the denial of conventional medicine - resulting in avoidable suffering and harm. Your question is effectively the same as "What's the harm in doing nothing about illness?". The fact that the body (perhaps with the mind's help) can sometimes heal itself, doesn't mean that disease should always be left untreated.
