My gelding is a nappy sod in the school. If he goes forward, it is at a snails pace until the light suddenly goes on and he works beautifully.
We go through the usual refusing to move, walking backwards etc.
If I hack out first though, its a different story and he goes straight in the arena and works lovely and forward, quick off the leg with no napping issues at all.
Its not always feasible to hack out first, so do you have any other ideas?
I know he is probably just being an akward bugger, but I did think that maybe he needs something to encourage him to 'think forward' before he can focus on schooling.
