Lil has had windgalls on her back legs for about the past week. Not huge but definitely puffy.

She's not been ridden on anything other than a surface since they came up and even before then I wasn't pounding her on hard ground so I'm hoping its not too serious.

She's having a few days off now because she's got a sore back as well so I'm hoping they'll go down but no sign of it so far.

Any tips?

Im putting bioflow tendon wraps on my boys windgall overnight, his is on his hind fetlock, its definately shrunk! Doesnt help though with them hooning around on the hard ground. Someone also said about feeding cleavers herbs as it acts as a diuretic. Theres loads of threads on here about windgalls

It is possibly related to her sore back. Have you had a chiropractor or similar out to her? Otherwise I would agree with gingerthing on the magnets

Thanks, I did wonder if it was connected to her sore back or whether its different. Chiro is coming on Friday so hoping she'll sort it all. She has had windgalls before, about a month ago when the ground was hard as well so i'm hoping its just that and the excessively hot weather.

I'm cold hosing and putting some cooling gel on them as well on the basis that it can't hurt.

I don't really want to put wraps on her legs in this weather and make them even hotter but may well get some if its still a problem when the weather cools down.

Clivers is very good for windgalls, my horses will go up and down depending on the weather and how hes using himself. For instance he had cellulitis at one point we feed clivers and his windgalls went completely
