I have an iron grey, and the top of his tail is quite dark, but it gets lighter as it goes down. He has some brown, grey and white hairs in it, but I have always thought it looked OK...until I saw photos of him the other day! I really need to get it a lot whiter. I have used whitening shampoos to no avail...it's just got that yellowish tinge to it! Any ideas??

Sterident denture cleaner . Few of them dissolved in a bucket of water and it'll be sorted

get hold of some of the blue rinse stuff, supreme do one it's excellent!! just wash the tail first then rinse out throughly and then a final blue rinse,,good luck.

I use fairy liquid but only on the actual tail at the bottom and then a vanish bar of soap, then wash with Asda smart price shampoo followed by a good conditioner. I only do this routine if I need the tail very clean. If it's just a quick wash then I just use the asda shampoo.

Another vote for steradent...I tried it for the first time this morning & OMG it's MILES better than any of the shampoos!! Have also bought a turnout tail bag & put it on when I got home from competing - am hoping for an end to tail washing as I HATE it!!!

Yep - Vanish soap for me too!
And Tesco's own cheaper than cheap shampoo - It is green in a blue/white striped bottle - Works absolute wonders!

Anything off the cleaning aisle in the supermarket that's for whitening things, eg, net curtain whitener, vanish etc or purple shampoo.
