how to keep ice boots frozen in lorry

Hi All,

what do you recommend is the best solution to keep ice boots frozen/re-freeze them after use if you are at a stay away show?
My lorry has a fridge but no freezer!

Cool bag with loads of ice packs in it ? I use the Decathlon cheapo cool bag....(I'm sure mine was £14.99 but it is a slightly different design, fit 2 ice boots easily probably could get a set of 4 in)

I use a cool bag with ice blocks inside it, and that keeps them mostly frozen for about 3-4 hours

I also thought about filling the cool bag itself with water, so that it would freeze around the boots, but unsure how well that would work in reality, and probably very messy.

You could also buy a freezer cool box, maybe.

You can get cool boxes with cigarette lighter attachments to keep cool - but be careful of it wearing your battery down, I would probably only plug it in while moving.

The best is going to be one of those fishing ice boxes, they're designed to keep stuff frozen for days, but they're pretty expensive.

I used to use instant ice packs. You just place the pack on your palm and strike with other hand to break the bubble inside - its a chemical type reaction. THen you shake the pack until it goes ice cold and place on the leg (over the top of a piece of kitchen roll to avoid ice burn) and wrap either a bandage or place a boot over the top to hold it onto the leg. I used to use an Icevibe boot with the massage effect.

They are really useful, I used to apply them at the end of a ODE or fun ride for my previous horse.
