I'd say the vast majority of horses that don't lead well into the trailer are perfectly fine in their daily lives, the problem comes when you try to lead (or sometimes) ride them where they don't want to go. That's what is behind all the NH leading over tarps etc - to cement the lesson.

If you have access to the vehicle in question, practice with that. But for anyone who doesn't, there are other ways to address it. I am also inclined, if I know a horse is sticky, to take it lots of places it's not keen on. :) Including other boxes and trailers.

I haven't found the Dually to be any more effective than a rope properly adjusted over the nose, but again, the horse has to learn about it first.
