how to make a mounting block

Can anyone help me? I want my other half to make me a mounting block. It will need to be strong but moveable.

Also, I am a new poster and don't know how to find my last post, if you see what I mean. I click on eg. New Lounge then finish up scrolling down to try and find the query I posted the day before. What is the quick way of doing it.

ooh! I made the best mounting block ever from sawn fence rails. Solid as a rock, two steps about 3-4ft high and took me a day to make and is really quite cheap! let me know if you would like me to pm you a pic
