I have apple cidar vinegar, would mixing this in with feed and them add valerian work?

Or disguise a teaspoon full in an apple?

Haven't got time to go our and but garlic which was my next thought..

I haven't tried valerian but my old horse used to hate anything added to his food. In the end I found a mixture of grated apple and carrot was the most effective, it makes a sort of horse slush-puppy that hid nasty tastes well enough.

Well I hollowed out a bit of an apple put 2 tsps valerian in and then poured a splash of apple vinegar on top and she munched it whole so it got it there! yer I saw the tablet version but automatically thought it was human compsumption only and wasn't sure about the dosage. Will wait and see now if it works for Sunday..

My 18 yr old arthritic mare started refusing her meals with bute in, she now gets a toastie sarnie with marmite/bute so far it works, try mixing meals with warm water with marmite in, both of mine enjoy a warm drink of marmite with or without meds

Have you tried treacle? I dissolve it (the treacle) in hot water, let it cool, then mix the liquid and whatever I need to disguise (in our case, wormer) into his food. It works for us. I think the smell of the treacle and the sweetness hide the smell and taste of the "additive" Just make sure he eats it all and doesn't chuck it all round the stable.
