Hi,
I’ve had a lot of horses and youngsters of time. But I’ve got a colt 2 yr that will not stand quiet in the lorry when it’s not moving (say parked at a show) He stomps and kicks back a bit. Also he will go up and stand with his Front feet on the tack locker.
How do I stop him doing this please any helpful hints and ideas would be greatly appreciated. I also want him to stand quiet on the lorry whilst we wait for his classes. He also stomps while lorry is moving as well.

I would guess that most of his issue is that he's 2 and most of the rest is that he's a colt. But standing on the tack locker could result in a catastrophic injury, so if he must stay in the lorry I would put a wither strap/rope on him to stop him going up.

Was going to write the same. Honestly these are brilliant. Absolute game changer for Robin. He would try and climb up to look out of the window.

Robin is now gelded which has calmed the behaviour a little but not completely. If we have to wait around at shows he has his travel safe on with the grooms door open and the ramp down but the back gates shut. He can see what's going on front and back and this usually is enough for him to have a little patience.

The trick really with babies is to time your arrival right and leave not to long after your done if possible. And practise.

They are incredibly expensive. A rope across the wither firmly attached on each side will do the same job.

like YCBM says its being 2 and being a colt-ive had 2 stallions that like wall climbing, one solved by front hobbles and one solved by removing the partition.

very hard to stop it aside from physically preventing it or removing the climbing frame.

hobbles.
travel safe
no partition
