How to mat concrete yard so hooves don't get worn too short?

Full rubber stable mats get very slippery if outside when temps dip below freezing.

I’ve got a couple of spare ones which are kept outside, I noticed this after inadvertently going skiddies on them 😳🤣.
Or just wet! I have seen a neighbours horse hit the desk a few times just turning around a bit quick

I usually do one a day.

Do you use one nozzle per foot? Do you use more than one tube of hoof armour and 12 nozzles if doing 1 application per day for 3 days... Or if doing v thin coat can you get multiple feet done using one nozzle?

Horse has shoes on and is recovering from bruised foot, do you think it's worth using it on soles when shod, he's got v thick soles but before hacking him after the bruise would an application be beneficial?

Sorry for all the questions, this is all new to me 🙂

It sets very quickly on the nozzle.
I can get all 4 feet done using a nozzle but I prep all feet first, wrap them in nappies, then move quickly!

How much you get through depends on size of feet to be honest.

I can get 16 feet done on one tube with a very thin layer (14.2hh)

I prep the feet first and usually do two feet per nozzle, though if I'm just doing a top up of the toes where the feet wear most , I can whizz round all four. Sometimes it depends on the temperature as the hoof armour is a lot more runny in warmer weather.
I usually get about 16 hooves from a tube. 14h, size 2 scoot boots.
I use it mainly to prevent excessive wear riding on the roads.
If he has shoes on I think it would help doing soles, collateral grooves etc. Without it getting worn as much with the shoes on you may just need one application.

Thanks ... Giant horse has giant feet but useful to know it is possible to do more than one foot with a nozzle. With shoes on will hopefully be easy 🙂
